High above Clotho’s perilous forest floor, the Inwari cling to their treetop cities, safe, mostly, from the wolf packs that prowl the roots below. But in the northern town of Skyrend Cliffs, an even deadlier threat circles overhead: colossal cliff falcons with wingspans wider than a house. For a people built light and hollow-boned, survival is a delicate balance between the dangers beneath their feet and the ones soaring above. When the caribou grow scarce, that balance shatters, and a young hunter must confront the predators that have shaped Inwari life for generations. In a world where the ground and sky both hunger for blood, safety is an illusion and bravery is the only way forward.
